The weekend is nearly upon us and this weekend we have a great selection of brand new releases available to watch. From the latest series of Brooklyn Nine-Nine to a new adult animated superhero show from the creators of The Walking Dead, I’ve picked out some of this weekends highlights.
The Irregulars
The Irregulars is a Netflix original series following a gang of misfits who investigate supernatural crimes in Victorian London, for Dr John Watson and Sherlock Holmes. The trailer looks mysterious and exciting and from the premise, the series looks like a reinvented, dark magic take on the Sherlock Holmes tales.

Invincible: Season 1
Invincible is an adult animated superhero show starring Steven Yeun and J.K. Simmons and is created by Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead. Unlike most adult-oriented animated shows, Invincible doesn’t have a huge focus on comedy, but instead focuses a lot on bloody violence for its adult audience. The series is inspired by the comics and if they’re anything to go by, Amazon could be on to a winner!

The series follows 12-year-old boy Evan who after being kicked out of the Mighty Ducks hockey team, assembles his own team with the help of the Ducks’ original coach. It’s reported that the series will be 10-episodes-long, each of which released weekly and from the trailer, the series actually looks quite entertaining!
