The Easter weekend has nearly arrived and this weekend, there are a host of hot new releases available to stream. From a pair of true story thrillers to a new Netflix Original starring Idris Elba, I’ve picked out some of this weekends highlights.
The Dissident
The Dissident is a documentary thriller, examining the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Based on the true story and offering never-before-seen footage, the documentary looks to provide a fascinating insight into money, power and corruption.
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video (arrives April 1st)
The Mauritanian
Another film based on a true story, The Mauritanian follows the investigation into the case of a suspected 9/11 terrorist imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay. Whilst less of a documentary than that of The Dissident, the legal case The Mauritanian is based on looks absolutely fascinating. The film stars Jodie Foster, Tahar Rahim and Benedict Cumberbatch and is based on Mohamedou Ould Slahi’s New York Times best-selling memoir.

Now in its eleventh season, Bob’s Burgers takes a bit of time to get into, but once you’re hooked you will love it! If you’re a fan of Family Guy or The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers should be right up your street.
