After a great selection of games last month with PlayStation Plus, players can pick up some more fantastic titles in May. From May 4th, players will be able to pick up World War II shooter Battlefield V, as well as survival game Stranded Deep. PlayStation 5 owners will also be able to pick up carnage-filled racer Wreckfest at no extra cost!
Wreckfest is a racing game unlike no other! Whilst all the usual racing modes are included in the game, Wreckfest’s main focus is on vehicular destruction! One of the main mechanics of the game is that each vehicle uses soft-body damage modelling, meaning location-based damage is enabled that affects the driving dynamics of vehicles in a realistic fashion. With the races focusing heavily on vehicular combat, players must find a balance of damaging opponents’ vehicle whilst preserving the state of their vehicle at the same time!
Wreckfest isn’t all about races though, the other main game mode within the game is the popular demolition derby. In demolition derby, players must survive as long as possible whilst avoiding destruction from opposing players. There is a huge choice of playable vehicles in Wreckfest too; ranging from ride on lawn mowers to huge school buses, meaning you can have a huge amount of fun creating crazy havoc filled races!
Battlefield V (PS4)
Battlefield V is a first-person shooter set during World War II and is the latest Battlefield game to have been released. Battlefield V takes players across expansive locations around the globe and creates for some truly epic battles. The inclusion of Battlefield V as a part of PS Plus is certainly arriving at an interesting time, as there have been a number of rumours recently that the next Battlefield game in the series is going to be announced imminently!
Stranded Deep (PS4)
Stranded Deep is a survival game which places players in the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Players must learn to survive, managing their health, hunger, thirst and sleep whilst battling the many varieties of life in the tropical ocean. The trailer looks like great fun, almost like a ‘Lost’ version of Minecraft! If you’ve ever wondered how you’d fair stranded alone on a desert island, this could be the game for you!
I already own Battlefield V on PlayStation and have Wreckfest for the Xbox, but overall, it’s a great selection of games this month. I’ve only put a few hours into Wreckfest to date, but from what I’ve played of it it’s great fun and a real change of pace from your standard racing game. Battlefield V is fantastic and personally one of my favourites within the series, plus with so much free additional content in the game, there is plenty to keep you busy! Stranded Deep looks absolutely awesome and a game I will definitely be picking up this month.
All of these games are available for PlayStation Plus members from May 4th to May 31st.
