July kicks off with a great selection of games available to download with PlayStation Plus! From today (July 6th), players will be able to pick-up action-packed shooter Call of Duty: Block Ops 4 in addition to wrestling game WWE 2K Battlegrounds. PlayStation 5 owners will also be able to pick up the critically acclaimed adventure game, A Plague Tale: Innocence!
A Plague Tale: Innocence (PS5)
A Plague Tale: Innocence is a survival horror stealth game, following the tale of Amicia and her little brother Hugo, in a heartrending journey through the darkest hours of history. Hunted by French Inquisition troops and surrounded by swarms of rats, players need to utilise stealth and solve a series of survival puzzles in order to survive. A Plague Tale: Innocence releases onto the PS5 with 4K native resolution, targeted 60 FPS, highly improved visuals and fast loading speeds.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (PS4)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is one of the more recent Call of Duty games, releasing just a few years ago in 2018. Unlike previous titles in the Call of Duty series, Black Ops 4 was the first entry not to feature a traditional single-player campaign and instead contains Multiplayer, Zombies and Call of Duty’s first delve into the battle royale genre with “Blackout”. Despite taking a step in a new direction with Black Ops 4, the game has received rave reviews for its gameplay and action-packed multiplayer.
WWE 2K Battlegrounds (PS4)
WWE 2K Battlegrounds is the latest wrestling game published by 2K Sports and takes the place of 2K’s normal yearly WWE game. Battlegrounds adopts a fast-paced, arcade-style fighting game rather than the more realistic main entries to the WWE 2K series. Players can play through a new story mode while unlocking unique characters and Battlegrounds, all whilst competing using special and abilities and power-ups in match types like Steel Cage and Royal Rumble!
Overall, I think July’s offering of PlayStation Plus games is pretty good! A Plague Tale: Innocence has had some amazing reviews and the 14th century setting to the game is highly intriguing to me. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is one of the few Call of Duty games I don’t actually own so likewise, this is another game I’m excited to pick up. Whilst the general consensus around WWE 2K Battlegrounds isn’t overly brilliant, it’s been a whilst since I’ve played a wrestling game and there’s no harm in giving it a go!
A Plague Tale: Innocence, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds are available to download for PlayStation Plus members until Monday, August 2.
